7 Saddest Deaths in Movie History That Are Still Talked About

Some movies are so brilliantly written and made that it has stayed with many people even years after their release, so much so that a lot of movie deaths still hurt as much as the first time you saw them. Here are some of the movie deaths that still sting now.

1. Tony Stark from 'Avengers: Endgame'

This list won't be complete if the death of Iron Man was not included. Tony Stark has been a beloved character by the entire MCU fanbase, and while his sacrifice was a heroic one that saved all the people in the universe, it was still painful to watch.

What intensified his death was because of all the years that avid fans have watched the character mature and grow, as well as all the struggles they've gone through just to win against Thanos. Then there's also the fact that he had a daughter (who loved him 3000).

2. Tadashi Hamada from 'Big Hero 6'

When "Big Hero 6" came out, people were obsessed with Baymax because of how fluffy and adorable he was, which was almost enough to make up for the pain of his unfortunate demise in the explosion. To add salt to the wound, we also watched as Hiro struggled with life without his brother.

3. Marley from 'Marley and Me'

I think everyone can agree that any death in a movie involving pets is a tearjerker, but the death of Marley, as listed by Buzzfeed, felt heavier because the entire movie showed us how the puppy grew up and how much he was loved by his owners. People with pets who watched the movie probably hugged their own tight after that.

4. Leslie Burke from 'Bridge to Terabithia'

Those who still mention it probably saw it when they were still young, which is why it hit harder when the movie revealed that Leslie, Jess' friend, had drowned. What's worse is it happened in the place where the two built their friendship, as they let their imagination create a whole enw world for the both of them.

5. Rue from 'The Hunger Games'

This didn't come as much of a surprise since the game was meant for everyone to die but one. Still, no one was prepared for the death of Rue from District 11, as mentioned by Screen Rant. What made it agonizing was that Rue had a kind heart and her innocence was reason enough for her to not deserve such a fate.

6. Jack Dawson from 'Titanic'

There are people who still mourn the life that Rose could've had with Jack Dawson. Jack was the sweet and charming guy who craved adventure and managed to catch the eye of someone who some would say was out of his league. In just a short time, they managed to form a bond that others can only dream of, only for it to be taken away.

7. Fred Weasley from 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2'

Throughout the movie series, we've grown to love the comic characters that are the Weasley twins. Fred and George's antics amused everyone who watched the movies, and all their interactions with the characters and each other were always hilarious.

It was heart-wrenching to watch one of them find the other dead after battling the dark wizards in Voldemort's army. The pain is amplified by the fact that the twins were thick as thieves, and George would surely feel that pain for the rest of his life.
