iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max Major Difference Leaked

A lot of Apple enthusiasts are always waiting for the newest generation of the iPhone to come out, and one of the predictable things about it is that the Pro and Pro Max models don't have much difference aside from their size. With the iPhone 15 release, however, it may be different.

iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max

People are expecting the release of the iPhone 15 lineup this September 2023 if rumors are to be believed, and one major change that people can count on is its transition to a USB-C charging port. Although, a leak suggests that it will not be the only major change.

It seems that iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a camera feature, a Persicope lens, which the iPhone 15 Pro will not, based on leaker Unknownz21's tweet. This might come as a disappointment to some users especially since the difference between the two has been minimal.

This means that people might have to take the new feature into consideration now when choosing which one to purchase, meaning that size and battery life are not all that they will sacrifice if they wish to acquire a cheaper model from the lineup.

On the bright side, the addition of the Periscope lens will finally allow Apple to compete with other brands that already have the lens in their camera. It's still not clear whether it will compete with Samsung's latest S23 Ultra's ability to zoom up to 100x.

As mentioned in Forbes, the availability of the Periscope lens being limited to the Pro Max model may have something to do with size, as it may not be able to fit in the smaller models. It is also why bigger smartphones are the only ones fitted with the camera feature.

The rumor has already been going around for months, but it's only recently that there has been a stronger lead since the confirmation came from a respected leaker. If it is true, then iPhone users who are fond of its camera quality may have to opt for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

What to Expect Based on Leaks

Aside from the shocking leak that is the addition of the Periscope lens, more rumors and leaks have been circulating about the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup. Users can expect more changes when it comes to the design as well. The volume buttons will have two separate buttons and the mute switch will be replaced with buttons.

As for the chipset, it's likely that Apple will still be using the Bionic A16 chipset, which is what was used in the iPhone 14 Pro models. Some rumors say that it will come with a titanium frame, thinner bezels, and a new color, according to The Verge. Although it's possible that the iPhone 15 Pro Max might be called iPhone 15 Ultra, reports say that the name won't be used until 2024.

Since the iPad Pro, Mac Mini, and MacBook Pro already supports Wi-Fi 6E, the new iPhone lineup is likely to have that too. With the new additions, the upcoming iPhone generation may very well exceed the iPhone 14 Pro Max price starting at $1,099.
