With millions of users hopping on to try Threads, there are those who have ended up discovering that they are not big fans of the app after all. In fact, some users are looking for a way to delete the app after hours of using it.
However, there is some bad news. You cannot just simply delete your Threads account. In fact, the Threads settings state that deleting the account will also affect the connected Instagram account.
According to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, "you can deactivate your Threads account, which hides your Threads profile and content, you can set your profile to private, and you can delete individual threads posts - all without deleting your Instagram account."

Since the app was made possible by the Instagram team and most of the details from your Instagram account will just be transferred to your Threads account.
Mosseri clarified on Threads that the team is currently "looking into a way" to delete the Threads account separately.
The release of the possible feature is yet to be announced by Meta.

After Instagram launched Threads on iOS and Android, some users are quick to observe the similarity of the design to Twitter.
As of now, some major features are still missing like search, DMs, following feed, trending, and hashtags.
Mosseri confirmed on Threads that these features are already in the works but will "take time" before its release.
