Apple Opens Beta Software Program

Apple is now releasing beta updates on their popular software such as iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and HomePod.

The company calls for its adventurous users to participate in the Apple Beta Software Program.

"As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can take part in shaping Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think," Apple wrote in their beta website.

By enrolling to the program, users can provide direct feedbacks to Apple by using the Feedback Assistant app.

Apple Beta Software Program for Free

Apple opens beta program to let users try out pre-release software before letting it out to the public.

However, since beta software are not commercially part of Apple yet, beta testers are encouraged to back up their Apple devices using Time Machine before installing the beta software.

The free beta program is available to anyone interested and has Apple ID. An Apple Beta Software Program Agreement will be signed upon registering.

Things to Expect in the Updated Apple Software

Most of the updates are not new to the public eye as it has been released through presentations last June during the WWDC event.

However, there are still features that are yet to be experienced using the beta such as the image cutout feature, pet recognition, Freeform update, nudity filter, auto-filling one-time verification codes, and more for iOS 17.

For MacOS 14 Sonoma, widgets are getting a major update that allows them to be moved in desktop. Additionally, a presenter overlay will be added for better video conferencing experience.

Other software updates are now available to preview on the Apple Beta website.
