Netflix is not planning for a native app for Apple's Vision Pro, as reported in Bloomberg's Power On newsletter.
As a result, Netflix will only allow the existing iPad app to run unmodified on the Vision Pro.
According to the Bloomberg's newsletter, developers will have two options: to let the iPad app run as is or modify it to fit the Vision Pro specifications.
Netflix Rejects Apple's Efforts
Netflix is only one of the companies to reject Apple's in-app purchasing (IAP) system. Currently, the iOS and iPad apps do not support AirPlay.
Additionally, users cannot subscribe to Netflix through Apple TV channels.
Apple's main competitor for mixed reality gadgets, Meta, have also encountered the same problem from third-party applications.
Vision Pro Apps To Look Forward
During the WWDC, Disney Plus was featured as one of the expected apps to become native to Vision Pro. In addition, Zoom and Microsoft are also reported to have committed to develop a compatible software for it.
Vision Pro apps are speculated to be more expensive compared to their iPhone and iPad counterparts.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman states the possibility of professional apps will cost from $50 to $250.
As of writing, Netflix has yet to formally announced its plans moving forward with Vision Pro.
