The iPhone 15 Could Go on Sale in Mid-September

Are your finances ready for the iPhone 15?

Apple is reportedly getting ready to officially announce its upcoming iPhone 15 lineup and its subsequent sale in September, just in time before the holiday quarter begins if proven true.

Many iPhone 15 specifications were leaked in the past few months, though Apple has not acknowledged nor legitimized them.

iPhone 15 Release Date?

The iPhone 15 may be up for sale as soon as late September. According to a report from Bloomberg journalist and Apple insider Mark Gurman, Apple is likely to announce and officially reveal its latest iPhone model on Sept. 12 or 13 and put it up for sale around Sept. 22.

Gurman's report is consistent with Apple's past releases if proven true. September is Apple's traditional launch timeline, with it releasing its past iPhone models within the month.

The iPhone 14 officially launched in Apple's physical and online stores on Sept. 16, 2022, while its introduction was on Sept. 7 that same year. Meanwhile, 9to5Mac reported that Apple announced the iPhone 13 on Sept. 14, 2022, and was released for public purchase on Sept. 24 of the same year.

There are exceptions to the rule, though. Apple previously decided to put its iPhone 14 Plus on sale on Oct. 7, 2022, due to supply issues, per 9to5Mac. It also delayed the release of the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini in 2020 for the same reason.

Rumors suggest that at least one iPhone 15 model would get released later than the others. Meanwhile, others believe that Apple will push through its rumored plan of selling its iPhone models despite "severe shortages."

While Gurman's report didn't mention when pre-ordering the smartphone could be possible, Android Authority states that interested customers could do so on Sept. 15 if Gurman's reported launch date is accurate. There is no word on how much Apple's latest iPhone lineup would be, but the company is expected to raise prices for the Pro modes.

Analysts even expect Apple to charge $200 more for the iPhone 15 Pro Max compared to its iPhone 14 counterpart, which is priced at $1,199 as of press time, according to Apple.

iPhone 15 Possible Highlights

Although there were many leaks and rumors surrounding the upcoming iPhone 15, some features are worth waiting for Apple's confirmation in September. A leak allegedly revealed the iPhone 15 Pro model could have an all-new casing, a bigger camera bump, thinner bezels, replaced buttons, and a brand-new colorway.

Additionally, the entire iPhone 15 lineup could feature Wi-Fi 6E compatibility, giving it faster and more reliable wireless connections. Its Pro models might also come with solid-state buttons, while the base models get physical ones, giving iPhone 15 Pro users improved water resistance and more features to enjoy.

Last but not least, the iPhone 15 might use Apple's M3 chip thanks to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s newest 3-nm chipmaking technology. The use of Apple's M3 chip could provide the phone with more power for a higher price tag.
