Meta rolled out a series of updates for Threads for this week, announced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg on August 9.
Share Threads Directly to Instagram DMs
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri went on Threads to announce that users can now easily share post from the platform to Instagram with just a button. "Tap the share button and you'll now see Send on Instagram," he instructed.
This new option will let users share their Threads post directly to Instagram. Most users are known to be avid sharers of content around platforms and Threads hopped on that user experience to further tie the connection of Instagram and Threads.
Threads Roll Out Other Updates
Aside from direct sharing, Threads also added a couple of updates for the app such as you can now see all the post that you have like by going to your profile and selecting "Your Likes."
In addition, you can now also sort the accounts you follow and add custom al-text for your image and video posting. Threads can also be used to verify identity through platforms like Mastodon.
All of these chunk of updates can be seen as Meta's attempt to bring back the apps engagement. Threads has seen a huge decline in daily app usage weeks after its big launch. Regardless, Zuckerberg acknowledge that the decline was inevitable for every launch and that Meta will continuously work on improving Threads.
