Zuckerberg Says People Should ‘Move On’ from the Cage Fight as Musk Fails to Confirm

We are all looking forward to the cage match between Musk and Zuckerberg. After all, a tech billionaire settling a dispute against another tech billionaire through a physical fight is top-tier entertainment. To all our disappointment, it looks like we were all hyped up for nothing.

Zuck is Becoming Doubtful of It Happening

A lot of us have been waiting patiently for news about the fight. We understand that it might take a while since both are training to prepare for the cage match, but after all that publicity and support from the MMA industry, it seemed like a sure thing.

With the Meta CEO's recent statement: "I think we can all agree Elon isn't serious and it's time to move on," it's becoming more clear that the fight will not happen. Zuckerberg added that he already offered a real date, as reported by Gizmodo.

UFC President Dana White was also willing to make it a legitimate match, wherein the proceeds would be given to charity. It was no surprise that people were willing to put effort and resources into it since millions are already anticipating the event.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, Musk won't confirm a date. Musk also stated in X that he was getting an MRI of his upper neck and upper back, which might require surgery before the fight can happen, which was a valid excuse to postpone the fight for some time.

However, Zuckerberg revealed that Musk was asking to do a practice round in his backyard instead. In response to the Tesla CEO's indecisiveness, the Facebook founder says he's going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.

Musk is certainly not looking good in this, all things considered. People have gone out of their way to make it happen and he is the only unsure factor. Zuckerberg is vocal about how ready he is to fight, all while Musk is staying silent, something that's very uncharacteristic for him.

Musk is Yet to Respond to Zuck's Statements

The X owner has been unusually quiet about the fight even though he's the one who got the ball rolling. It all began when Musk said that he was up for a cage match if Zuckerberg was. The latter then responded through an Instagram story with the caption "Send Me Location."

This went on for a while until where Musk suggested the UFC Octagon and even said that the fight would be streamed in X at one point where the proceeds would go to charity for veterans. Zuck responded by saying that a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity should be used.

The suggested date by Zuckerberg was August 26th, which Musk was yet to confirm. Even if the fight doesn't happen, the Meta CEO says he loves the sport and will continue competing with people who train, as reported by AP News.

Elon Musk is known to make impulsive decisions, and that might be what saves the match that we've all been waiting for. However, it is likely the reason why he challenged Zuckerberg in the first place, and a little bit of time and actual thinking made him want to back out.
