Genshin Impact v.4.1 Leak Reveals Fontaine Expansion, New Event Weapon

Genshin Impact's 4.1 update could be as big as its recent Fontaine expansion.

Players of the hit action-adventure RPG have reportedly found what the game's 4.1 update will bring to expand the game and what it could offer players.

Hoyoverse, the game developer behind Genshin Impact, released the game's 4.0 update on Aug. 16 to the delight of many gamers.

Genshin Impact 4.1 Update Rumors, Leaks

Reddit users in the r/Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit recently found that Genshin Impact's 4.1 update contains several map expansions, new enemy types, and new event weapons for players to look forward to.

According to the leaks, one of the enemies the 4.1 update will bring is the Seneschal of Frost and the Seneschal of Wind. These enemies come with outfits stylish enough for the subreddit members to believe that they must have a connection with Arlecchino, the Fatui harbinger seemingly connected to Fontaine's storyline.

According to Gamerant, the Seneschals' outfits share some design elements with Arlecchino herself.

In addition to the Seneschals, v.4.1 seems to contain map expansions to further reveal the nation of Fontaine, with the expansions filling out the gap in the center of Teyvat (the map's center). These map expansions will remain consistent with Fontaine's water-based theme and will be diversified with natural attractions like islands, mountains, and underwater sections.

Genshin Impact's 4.1 update also comes with two new playable characters - both of them male - Wriothesley and Neuvillette. Unfortunately, the leaked information didn't mention the skills both characters will have, though previous leaks showed that Wriothesley will be a five-star Catalyst user while Neuvillette will have a Hydro Vision.

Interestingly, Kenshin Impact's 4.1 update comes with an event that can provide players with a new event-exclusive weapon if they manage to complete it. This weapon, called Ballad of the Boundless Blue, is a catalyst that increases normal and charged attack damage by 16% and 12% for six seconds, respectively.

The weapon's effect can be triggered once every 0.3 seconds, but can only be stacked three times.

As with many Genshin Impact leaks, HoYoverse did not confirm the leaks, nor did it address them in a released statement.

Genshin Impact 4.0 Release Details

Genshin Impact's 4.0 update comes with an introduction to the region of Fontaine, the nation of Justice ruled by the God of Justice and Hydro, Focalors.

Aside from the architecture, culture, and landscape reminiscent of Medieval Europe, the region also comes with new activities for players to enjoy. These include exploring the region's depths via swimming and diving and challenging new bosses like the Icewing Suite and the heavily Armored Crablord "Emperor of Fire and Iron."

The new update also came with improvements to enhance players' experience. For example, Genshin Impact's Global Illumination allows objects, especially their colors, to be affected by multiple indirect lights from surrounding objects.

Other improvements include the multi-layered map and the new Party Setup backgrounds and animations a la Honkai: Star Rail, which is intended to provide players with practical and interesting details in their adventures.
