HoYoverse is revealing the abilities of Fontaine's Chief Justice in preparation for its release.
The popular game developer recently introduced Neuvilette's abilities and talents to Genshin Impact's players, allowing them to determine if he's worth the primogems.
Neuvilette, along with his fellow 5-star character, Wriothesley, will be available on Genshin Impact's 4.1 update on Sept. 27.
Neuvilette Character Details
For Genshin Impact players caught up with the game's Archon Quests, Neuvilette needs no further introduction. But for those who haven't, Neuvilette is (as previously mentioned) Fontaine's Chief Justice - he oversees the trials held in the region's Opera Epiclese, an opera house that acts as the region's main courthouse and other entertainment functions.
As previously discussed in previous articles, Neuvilette is a Hydro catalyst-wielding character that utilizes attacks that increase his damage output whenever he restores the health his abilities drain. While HoYoverse Studio Technical Director Zhenzhong Yi didn't reveal Neuvilette's abilities, the game developer's announcement shows exactly what Fontaine's Chief Justice is capable of.
According to HoYoverse's revelations, Neuvilette utilizes light flourishes for normal attacks, which hit three times at most. His main damage dealer, though, is his charged attack - it consumes a fixed amount of stamina to attack opponents in an area with blasts of water.
While Neuvilette charges his charged attack, he can move, change facing, and absorb any Sourcewater Droplets in a certain area, allowing him to form his Seal of Arbitration faster and be healed by them. When the charging is stopped, but the Seal isn't complete, Neuvilette will unleash his standard charged attack.
Should Neuvilette's Seal fully form, though, he can dish out his Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment instead. This charged attack has Neuvilette unleash surging torrents that deal continuous Hydro damage in a straight-line area to all opponents in front of him.
While this charged attack is damaging, it also siphons Neuvilette's HP if it's above 50% while this attack is active.
Neuvilette's Elemental Skill, "O Tears, I shall Repay," summons a waterfall that deals Hydro damage (based on his max HP) in an area to opponents in front of him. Hitting an opponent with this skill will generate three Sourcewater Droplets near them.
His elemental burst, "O Tides, I have Returned," unleashes waves that deal Hydro damage around Neuvilette based on his Max HP. After the initial attack, two waterfalls will descend and deal Hydro damage in a smaller area; it will generate six Sourcewater Droplets within an area in front of him.
Lastly, Neuvilette can passively summon a Raging Waterfall on opponents at certain internals. These waterfalls will pierce the opponents they hit to deal Pneuma-aligned Hydro damage.
Neuvilette Character, Talent Ascension Materials
As expected, players can gather Neuvilette's character and talent ascension materials exclusively in Fontaine. His character ascension materials consist of Varunada Lazurite gemstones, transoceanic pearls, and two new items players could find in Fontaine's upcoming Liffey Region.
Meanwhile, Neuvilette's talent ascension materials include Equity books, transoceanic pearls, and Everamber, per Game8.
Neuvilette will become available for players to roll for on Sept. 27, when Genshin Impact's 4.1 update is live.
