Meta Introduces Quest 3 Model With Improved Features for $500

Meta launched its next-generation mixed reality headset, Meta Quest 3, which featured various upgrades and will retail at $499.99.

This year's Meta Connect centered on the mixed reality headset called Meta Quest 3. During the event it was announced that the headset will arrive on the shelves by October 10 but the pre-orders starts September 28.

The "first mass-market" mixed reality headset will offer two storage variety with the 128GB version selling at $499.99 while the 512GB will sell at $649.99. The 512GB also comes with a six months trial of Meta Quest+ for $100. In addition, Meta Quest 3 buyers can also opt to add the Asgard's Wrath 2 for only $59.99 for a limited time.

Meta Quest 3 has been redesigned with a thinner profile ensuring a more customizable fit to its users. The company also collaborated with Qualcomm Technologies to produce the world's first device powered by the new Snapdragon XR2 Gen2 platform. This ensures high quality graphics, faster loading time, and crisps details when it comes to gaming.

Performance Check with Meta Quest 3

Meta Quest 3 offers a 4K+ Infinite Display that gives 25 pixels per degree and 1,218 pixels per inch ensuring the best resolution among the other Quest generations. In addition, the pancake lens optical stack has a 40 percent slimmer optic profile and 25 percent more sharpness compared to the Meta Quest 2.

Aside from the visual portion of the headset, Meta Quest 3 is 40 percent louder than the Quest 2 making the sounds more clear and immersive. The headset comes with an integrated stereo speakers but you can always plug a 3.5mm headphones if you like.

The Meta Quest 3 box kit includes the headset with pre-installed Standard Facial interface, 2 Touch Plus Controllers with wrist straps, 2AA batteries, charging cable, and power adapter. Other accessories designed specifically for Meta Quest 3 were also released at the same day.
