Spotify Premium subscribers from the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand are now entitled to listen to 15 hours worth of audiobooks per month.
Spotify Expands Audio Experience With Audiobooks
Last year, Spotify announced its plans to integrate thousands of audiobooks on its platform. This year the platform is bringing a new chapter as it brings over 150,000 audiobooks available to Spotify Premium subscribers. Plans such as Premium individual and plan managers for Family and Duo accounts are eligible to get 15 hours of listening per month. If 15 hours is not enough for a month, Spotify also opened a 10-hour top-up that can be purchased.
The feature will roll out to the U.K. and Australia this October 4 while the U.S. subscribers will have to wait until later this year. Spotify's audiobook expansion brings a more immersive audio experience to its subscribers with over 100 million tracks, 5 million podcasts, and more than 150,000 audiobooks to choose from.
"Not only can you listen to some of your favorite authors' works, but you can also tune into podcasts where fans dissect the most minor details of a story and find the hidden meaning in every sentence, without leaving the app," Spotify announced.
How to Access Audiobooks on Spotify?
To find the audiobooks on Spotify just type the title in search and hit the first chapter. Subscribers can also explore other titles by checking out the audiobook recommendation from its home feed.
Currently, the majority of the available titles are bestselling books from Hachette, HarperCollins Publishers, Macmillan, Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, and RB Media, as well as independent authors and publishers globally, including Bolinda, Dreamscape, and Pushkin. The audiobook feature is available for download and offline listening as well.
