Bethesda Brings Back Fallout 76 for Free Ahead Its Fifth Anniversary

Bethesda announced that Fallout 76 is now free to play across PC and consoles as part of its limited promotion for the game's fifth anniversary.

Fallout 76 Disappointing Launch

The game was initially released in late 2018, while Fallout game titles are usually hyped by fans the launch became a disappointment to fans. Fallout 76 was full of technical issues and lacks overall appeal when it come to content.

Despite its failed launch, Bethesda did not succumb and spent five years improving its multiplayer shooter. In addition, the company also releases regular content which helped in attracting solo players as well. Compared to five years ago, Fallout 76 has gotten better and has a large gaming community to this day.

Although the actual fifth-year anniversary of Fallout 76 is on November 14, gamers can now get the game for free until the last week of October. For November, Bethesda will be hosting a Twitch stream featuring a birthday parade and Atom giveaways.

What to Expect With Fallout 76 Anniversary

Aside from making it free to play, the celebration week also overlaps with the Spooky Scorched event. This will allow Fallout 76 players to hunt down customed Scorched mobs that will give them Spooky Treat Bags and Mystery Candy. In addition, there are also legendary weapons and armor to watch out for.

The Atomic Shop will also offer a free Spooky Candy Bowl until November 7. Giving out candy will help the gamers progress on their Halloween challenges and earn some rewards.

Bethesda will be hosting two Wasteland Classroom streams on October 25 and November 1 to give new and returning players a refresher course on their in-game knowledge. Fallout 76 Atoms will be given away during the broadcasts. The free-to-play Fallout 76 is now available across Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam.
