The Pokemon Company and Tiffany & Co. teamed up for an exclusive jewelry line that features a $29,000-piece.
Pokemon Nine-Piece Jewelry Line
As per VGC, the collection includes nine pieces of jewelry with the most expensive being Pikachu, which comes at $29,000. Meanwhile, the cheapest piece costs $1,290. The Pikachu pendant is reportedly made of 18-karat yellow gold diamond with diamond accents. It also comes in a smaller size at $9,900.
On the other hand, there will be seven oxidized sterling silver pendants with diamond accents. The six pendants will also feature individual Pokemon such as Charmander, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, Cubone, and Mew. Customers can also buy a pendant that features all six together for a different price.
The whole collection was created by contemporary Daniel Arsham, who has previously worked with Tiffany & Co. in the past. The artist described the collaboration as a blend of pop culture, fine jewelry, and art. "Both are inextricable from the cultural footprint of the past, present, and future," he added.
The entire collection will be available on the Tiffany & Co. website for only 24 hours, starting on November 29.
Pokemon Company's History of Collaboration
This is not the first collaboration that the Pokemon Company has introduced to its fans. For a while, the company has been partnering with various companies to sell limited-edition merchandise that merges two interests together. For instance, there have been collaborations with skateboards, official soundtracks, and even fast food.
Most recently, the company teamed up with the Van Gogh Museum which intersected the love of Pokemon with art. Despite numerous precautions and preventative measures, the collaboration led to chaos after scalpers hoarded the store for exclusive products.
On the other hand, the famous jewelry company Tiffany & Co. also has its fair share of big collaborations. The most notable one is Marvel's Infinity Stones collection which is reportedly worth $25 million.
