Nothing Phone 2 owners can now access iMessage after the company added the integration to the new Nothing Chats app.
Nothing Brings iMessage to Android Phones
Developed with the messaging platform, Sunbird, Nothing has successfully brought the blue bubbles to its phone line. According to the announcement, the Nothing Chats will allow users to message iMessage users with the same blue bubble despite using a Nothing phone.
"Those green messaging bubbles can feel like a barrier between you and other smartphone users," the company wrote. Nothing also believes that messaging services should serve as a window to communication and not walls. Hence, the company created the Nothing Chats to break down the barriers.
Starting November 17, the app will be available to the Nothing Phone 2 users in the US, Canada, UK, and EU. While the app is still in beta, the company promised that it is already working to expand the app's availability to more countries. Moreover, interested users can sign up for the newsletter for more updates.
Nothing Chats Receives Good Feedback
Upon its announcement, many Nothing enthusiasts quickly acknowledged the great idea behind the app. Since the app was announced to be available for Phone 2, many Phone 1 users are requesting for it to be available for them as well. Nothing Chats marked the first app to offer a solution to one of the biggest dilemmas between Android and iOS users.
Aside from that, Nothing revealed that all conversations are end-to-end encrypted. This means that neither the company nor Sunbird can access the messages from the users. Users can log in using their existing Apple ID username or create a new account to start sending and receiving blue bubbles.
What makes it exciting is that Nothing hinted that the Chats app will have more features and improvements as they finish the testing phase. Hopefully, the developers will take into consideration some of the requests from the Phone 1 users.
