Streaming giant Netflix announced that the classic Grand Theft Auto trilogy will be coming to its mobile gaming platform for free.
Netflix members can now pre-register to experience the "Definitive Edition" of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on mobile.

The titles will be available to download via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store on Dec. 14, Thursday.
Grand Theft Auto VI Hype
Netflix's announcement came ahead the release of the first GTA VI trailer in early December.
Building up hype for over 10 years now, GTA VI will be Rockstar's follow up to the wildly successful GTA V released in 2013.
Speculations are up on what will be the contents of the next installment after gameplay leaks went out last year.
Earlier reports suggest that the next game will surround a male and female character a la Bonnie and Clyde. Several hints suggest that the game will take in the same place as Vice City.
Insider reports expect the game to come out in 2025 with a $70 price tag.
Gaming on Netflix
The streaming platform initially launched its gaming initiative in 2021, launching game adaptations of its most popular shows and movies. Netflix even planned to launch its own AAA studio.
Titles include Hextech Mayhem from "Arcane," Stranger Things: 1984, and Spongebob: Get Cooking.
Statistics, however, show that only 1% of its users downloaded from its collection.
The announcement of the GTA games is Netflix taking another try to crack into the gaming community in its audience.
GTA is known to have a huge fanbase ready and eager to play the game no matter the platform.
Netflix has been reported to be trial-testing its games as early as August. Reports suggest that the streaming site may finally bring back life to its TV-based game selection.
Netflix's growing game catalog includes other notable mobile games like Spiritfarer, Into the Breach, and Bloons Tower Defense 6.
