Netflix's much-awaited original film "Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire" surprised the fans with a first-ever screening during the CCXP in Brazil.
'Rebel Moon' Was Originally a 'Star Wars' Spin-Off
During the production's CCXP appearance, director Zack Snyder and producer Deborah Snyder presented the special screening event to the fans. The panel discussion was also joined by movie stars Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounson, Michiel Huisman, Ed Skrein, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam, Staz Nair, and E. Duffy.
Lucky fans were surprised with the event as Snyder has been tight-lipped about the details of the film. According to reports, the filmmaker took a decade working on the project, which was initially a "Star Wars" spin-off.
Despite abandoning the "Star Wars" element, Snyder was allowed to have creative freedom over the film in the direction that he wanted. There is also a report hinting at a more adult cut that will be released eventually.
'Rebel Moon' to Hit Netflix This December
The "Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire" will have a limited theatrical release starting on December 15, giving fans and critics time to review the movie before it hits the streaming platform. Meanwhile, the film will be available on Netflix by December 22.
The film will serve as the prequel to the upcoming "Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver." The first movie will be focusing on Kora as she fights against the oppressive group of Imperium.
Based on the previous trailers, fans are already hoping to see Snyder's trademark direction style such as his storytelling, comic book references, and impeccable imagery.
