Showtime's standalone TV channel will be renamed Paramount+ With Showtime, starting January 8, 2024.
Paramount+, Showtime Join Together
Starting next year, Paramount+ and Showtime streaming apps are joining together under one app. Subscribers of the rebranded app will be able to enjoy Paramount+ shows like "Star Trek: Discovery (Seasons 1 to 4)", "Halo", and more. Other Showtime programs like "A Gentleman in Moscow", "Yellowjackets", and "Your Honor" will also be available.
"The move aligns the brand with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan, a cornerstone integration for the streaming service, making this the first of its kind multiplatform brand that integrates streaming and linear content," the company wrote in a press statement.
The company will also be doing a launch campaign that will promote the upcoming rebrand for the next year. The campaign will air on Showtime-owned and operated linear channels to boost awareness of the changes.
Paramount+ With Showtime Access
The name change of the linear Showtime cable network will only add select Paramount+ original series. However, some subscribers of the liner Showtime channel will not be able to access the Paramount+ With Showtime streaming plan.
The cable subscribers will have access to the online programming through authenticated streaming apps of pay TV partners. This is mainly due to the agreement between Paramount Global and other large pay-TV providers.
Earlier this year, Paramount Global announced the upcoming rebranding which will bring an ad-free streaming package and would eventually phase out the standalone Showtime streaming app and rebrand the cable network.
