"Curb Your Enthusiasm" confirmed that the end is coming for the hit sitcom after over two decades of entertainment.
'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Ends With 12th Season
The award-winning sitcom first aired for eight seasons between 2000 and 2011. The production had a six-year hiatus before resuming the show in 2017, since the the production has not been halted.
"As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this 'Larry David' persona and become the person God intended me to be - the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character," actor Larry David shared.
David also teased his fans as he bid farewell to his character. "For those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at 'Doctors Without Borders'," he joked.
The final and 12th season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" will air on February 4, 2024, on HBO and Max. The final episode will be released on April 7.
HBO, Max Gave Thanks to 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'
The chairman and chief executive of HBO & Max content called the series "ground-breaking, brilliantly funny, and iconic." He also emphasized that the show has left a mark on the television and the comedy genre.
Throughout its two-decade run, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" has been nominated for 51 Emmys with 10 of which nominations for best comedy spanning 11 seasons so far.
The series is also considered as HBO's longest-running sitcom show. Prior to its premiere, David was known for his participation in Seinfeld, which he left after seven seasons.
