Minecraft Aether Mod Gets Updated

The Aether mod is one of the largest Minecraft mods ever released. Launched in 2011, Aether allows players to experience an additional new realm that is made of floating islands, which can be accessible via the Glowstone portal.

The mod also features solid cloud-like blocks, new dungeons, items, and exclusive mobs like Aerbunny and Aerwhale. Fortunately, the game is now available to play as the mod is now available for modern Minecraft versions like 1.19.2, 1.19.4, and 1.20.1.

The mod is available for free on CurseForge and Modrint. Moreover, a member of the Aether development team revealed that they kept the original content so that the OG players could relive their early experiences of the game. Many Minecraft players have begun playing the game as a kid and have developed many fond childhood memories in game.

Minecraft Aether's Future

Although the mod was extremely popular, prior to the announcement, the Aether has not been updated since 2021. According to ozzARoth, the mod will transition to future releases once the mod loader becomes available for the latest Minecraft versions.

With the new update, players can finally play using Aether and Aether 2 as two standalone experiences that have their own progression system. Aether 2 was first released in 2013 and is known for its island generation system along with new blocks, mobs, and dungeons.

Many Minecraft players have rejoiced at the comeback of popular mods to the modern versions of the game. Fans are expecting to see the development of Aether 2 soon. Meanwhile, Mineplex is also set to return.
