Apple has finally released its iOS 17.3 update and it comes with all-and-improve anti-theft security features.
The iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 devices will receive the Stolen Device Protection feature, allowing owners to secure their devices from other people in case they get lost or stolen.
Apple will automatically require a one-hour security delay before changing the password if it recognizes that the device is in an unfamiliar location.
The feature has been teased before as part of features included in the iOS 17.3 beta.
The update will be available for all iPhone X and onwards. It will also work for the second and third generation of iPhone SE.
As for the iPad devices, the update will drop starting from the iPad tenth-generation, iPad mini fifth-generation, third generation of iPad Air, all iPad Pro, and onwards.
How to Update Apple Devices to iOS 17.3, iPadOS 17.3
To receive the update, device owners will just need to connect their iPhones and iPads to the internet to get notified of the new patch
The new update can then be installed through the "Software Update" option in the General settings.
If the Rapid Security Response is already installed, the device will automatically receive the latest security and software patches as soon as they come out.
Apple iOS 17.3 Additional Updates
While the Stolen Device Protection feature is the main highlight of the update, Apple has still included tiny bits of upgrade across other software and app features.
The update also brings an optimized crash detection, a more dynamic Apple Music, and a fix on an API error "when the purchase price of the transaction is a very large number."
New background wallpapers for Black History Month will be added, as well.
The iOS 17.3 update has been much tamer compared to iOS 17 releases in terms of new features added. However, it does not mean that Apple devices will not benefit from it.
