Twitch Streamer Pokimane Leaves Streaming Platform, Ends 10-year Career

Popular Twitch streamer, Pokimane, has announced her retirement from the platform, ending her 10-year run as a game live streamer.

The streamer did not disclose if she had plans to transfer platform but some fans are speculating that she might partner with YouTuber or Kick.

Pokimane Departs From Twitch Partnership

Imane Anys, widely known as Pokimane, started her Twitch channel in 2013 and established herself as a League of Legends streamer. Over the years, fans loved the variety of her content and became one of the most followed streamers on Twitch.

"Twitch has been my home for a decade...but it's time to say thank you for all the memories and love during my League, Fortnite, and Among Us days," the streamer wrote in an X post.

Meanwhile, Twitch sent their public regards to Pokimane citing that the streamer will always have a home on the platform.

Despite hitting big on Twitch, Pokimane is also widely popular on other platforms. She hit her peak during Fortnite's rise in 2018. In addition, she also collaborated with prominent people including the U.S. representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Among Us.

Pokimane's Departure Hits Twitch Significantly

Pokimane is considered to be the most followed female Twitch streamer and is the only female streamer to enter the Top 10 most followed accounts on the platform for several years. Hence, her departure could significantly affect Twitch's popularity.

In recent years, several popular streamers have also left the platform like MoistCr1tikal and xQC who transferred to a competing platform. Kick has risen in popularity, especially among Twitch streamers who were previously banned like Adin Ross and Amouranth.

Moreover, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has previously confirmed that the platform is not profitable anymore. This hinted that the company could be planning to lay off staff and cut other costs.
