Mark Zuckerberg Throws Shade at Apple Vision Pro Again, Says Meta's Quest 3 is 'Better'

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is not done with his beef with the Apple Vision Pro.

In a Threads post, Zuckerberg called Meta's Quest 3 the "better" VR headset, claiming the higher resolution in the Vision Pro is hindered by many "product tradeoffs that make their device worse in most ways."

The statement was a response to a post stating that the Quest 3 is "basically the same thing" as the Vision Pro and that Apple's current product has already reached Meta's future goals for its headsets.

Zuckerberg previously tried the Apple Vision Pro but insisted that his company's Quest headsets were of "better value" in terms of performance and cheaper price.

The Apple Vision Pro currently sits at $3,499, while the Meta Quest 3 is only around $500 to $650.

Meta has been touting its Quest series to surpass Apple's in three to five years.

Meta's Quest 3 Tops Apple Vision Pro in Hardware Sales

While the quality-over-price issue between the two headsets remains debatable, Quest 3 remains at the top of the headset sales at 20 million units sold in comparison to Apple with 200,000 units.

Meta even recorded over $1 billion in revenue from its Reality Labs division in the 4th quarter of last year thanks to Quest "having a strong holiday season."

The Quest app was also among the most downloaded programs in its app store on Christmas Day.

It is worth noting, however, that Vision Pro was just recently released in February, while Quest 3 has been around since 2019.

Apple Customers Returning Vision Pro

On the other hand, several reports indicate that customers have been returning their Apple Vision Pro due to claims that the device gave them headaches.

The Sun earlier reported that a vocal group of Apple customers refunded the hardware immediately after buying it.

It is worth noting, however, that Apple has already stated in its instruction guides that users are advised to start using the Vision Pro "with a short session, taking regular breaks and being aware of symptoms."
