Overwatch 2 Preps for Quick Play: Hacked Comeback for Season 9

Overwatch 2 is about to bring back Quick Play: Hacked, a game mode that removes one hero limitation on each team, before Season 9 ends.

Quick Play: Hacked was first introduced as an experimental game mode in the game, offering a different kind of experience for players.

Overwatch 2 Promises Twist for Quick Play: Hacked

During the Overwatch 2 Director's Take, game director Aaron Keller announced that the experimental mode is coming back with an additional twist. Season 9 will soon welcome Quick Play: Hacked Double Trouble.

The new game mode will remove the duplicate hero restriction on each team during Role Queue. This will allow both parties to have DPS or Support players to choose the same character.

As of writing, the game is yet to announce when the mode will happen. On the other hand, fans are expecting it to happen before Season 9 ends on or around April 7.

Overwatch 2 Introduces Quick Play: Hacked Double Trouble

The Double Trouble event will give teams a chance to pick the same heroes. Role Queue will remain active and each side must fill one Tank, two DPS, and two Supports.

Previously, Overwatch used to allow six players to have up to six copies of the same hero. The launch of Overwatch 2 sparked the new feature of Role Queue, bringing hero limitations to teams.

Currently, Overwatch 2 is implementing changes from Quicker Play to the base game. This includes faster bots and shorter game times in Push. A speed boost is also introduced in Flashpoint.

While waiting for Double Trouble, players must watch out for the mid-Season 9 patch coming on March 12. The event will also start the "Cowboy Bebop" collaboration event.
