Walmart, Best Buy Offer Big Discounts for M1 MacBook Air

Walmart and Best Buy are now offering big discounts on Apple's M1 MacBook Air for $699 and $649.99, respectively.

Earlier this month, Apple released the M3-powered lineup of MacBook Air, making the M2 a cheaper option and the M1 discontinued.

Walmart Partners With Apple, BestBuy Lowers Price

In a press release, Walmart shared that the retail store will continue selling the M1 MacBook Air. This marked the first time that customers could purchase a Mac directly from Walmart as previously the store only sold iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches.

"The very heart of that mission is the belief that customers should not have to sacrifice quality because of price," said Julie Barber, executive VP of merchandising at Walmart U.S.

The discounted M1 MacBook Air models are now for sale for $699 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. In addition, Best Buy has even lowered the deal by offering the same variant for only $649.99.

Apple Discontinues M1 Lineup After Releasing M3 MacBook Air

Previously, the M1 MacBook Air had a starting price of $999. The variant remained popular despite the impressive launch of the M2 MacBook Air, proving it to be an efficient and budget-friendly option.

Meanwhile, the M2 models have now become cheaper and adopted the $999 starting price for the 13-inch variant. Apple also discontinued the 15-inch M2 MacBook Air starting this month.

Apple buyers who want to purchase the previous models can look at BestBuy's catalog which offers huge discounts. For instance, the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air is now on sale for $899 for My Best Buy Plus members.

The 15-inch M2 MacBook Air is also available in the platform for $999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the 8GB RAM with 512 memory and 16GB RAM with 1TB storage are priced at $1,199 and $1,499, respectively.

The recently released M3 MacBook Air models can also be bought with a $50 discount for all variants but the offer is only available for My Best Buy Plus members.
