Skydance New Media announced its new game under the production of award-winning writer and director Amy Hennig and Marvel Games called Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
During the State of Unreal 2024, the studio revealed the trailer, giving a background on the original story that is set in the World War II era.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Details
The trailer unveiled four central characters in the game featuring young Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, Azzruri, T'Challa's grandfather who is also the WWII-era Black Panther, Howling Commandos Gabriel Jones, and Wakandan spy Nanali.
Khary Payton played Azzuri, while Drew Moerlin voiced Steve Rogers. Margue Richardson is behind Gabriel Jones' character along with Megalyn Echikunwoke as Nanali, and Joel Johnstone as Howard Stark.
Moreover, the first look of the game showed brief snippets of the gameplay. The game which is set in 1943 showed some scenes between Captain America and Black Panther in Paris.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Release
Although some details of the game remain unknown, the studio announced that it will be powered by Unreal Engine 5.4 and will include MetaHuman Animator.
The latter is a facial animation tool that allows developers to use an iPhone or stereo helmet-mounted camera to reproduce the facial performance in a high-fidelity animation. Hence, players can expect more realistic facial animations from the characters while playing.
"Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra captures the action, excitement, and globe-trotting adventure that has delighted fans for decades. We're excited to share more down the road," the studio announced.
The new Marvel game is slated to be released in 2025 with no specific launch date for the meantime.
