'The Sims' Preps for Big Screen

Although the project has not even entered its pre-production phase, reports have shown that Electronic Arts (EA), which published the game, will be tightly involved in the creative and producing portion of the film.

The production would be lucky enough to be backed by LuckyChap which is also behind the billion-dollar success of "Barbie" and "Saltburn." The company is also behind the upcoming comedy "My Old Ass." Robbie is joined in the venture by Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Sophia Kerr.

Meanwhile, Lee has been known for his works on similar productions such as the previous adaptation of Lego movies. Meanwhile, Herron has proven her skills in directing niche materials like "Loki" which gained huge popularity on Disney+.

The Sims Franchise's Popularity

EA introduced The Sims franchise to the public in 2000 as a simulation game that gave players the ability to control virtual people. Since then, there have been a lot of upgrades to the franchise which helped in retaining its popularity.

Currently, the game is still updating The Sims 4 with a bunch of expansion packs and kits to keep the players entertained with new content. Moreover, there is also a team that updates about the development of The Sims 5.

Since the film project is fairly new, there is still no news for the script, casts, and other details. However, fans are expecting a lot from Herron's writing which will be joined by Briony Redman.
