Helldivers 2’s Malevelon Creek is Finally Liberated from Automatons

Helldivers 2 has become one of the most popular games in the last few weeks, with players forming a strong community with the same goal. One of the planets that Helldivers have been fighting hard for is called Malevelon Creek, and players have finally reached total liberation.

Defeating the Automatons in Malevelon Creek

Many players have gone through hell before to defeat the robotic alien race that was occupying the planet, only to find that their efforts were all in vain as the Automatons completely reclaimed the Creek. However, that did not discourage players from diving back in and trying again.

It even became a running joke among the community, calling the planet "Space Vietnam." It seems that the developers are well aware of the hype around Malevelon Creek, as well as the effect that it has on other planets.

Since players are desperate to eradicate the robots from the planet, a huge percentage of the player base is only focusing on one area and ignoring other goals. This creates some sort of imbalance in the game, and the developers have devised a way to fix that.

Arrowhead Game Studios community manager pointed out on Discord that 25% of all players are on Malevelon Creek laying their life for Super Earth, which leads to the lack of forces in other planets like Draupnir, Ubanea, and Tibit, as shown in Kotaku.

To end the battle once and for all, the devs released a major order telling players to focus on Malevelon Creek to achieve 100% liberation, and the players have done it. The planet is finally under the control of the Government of Super Earth.

It is a little suspicious that the liberation took place on April 1st, which we all know is April Fool's Day. Since the developers have a penchant for humor, maybe Helldivers should not be celebrating their victory just yet.

Helldivers 2's Success

The game is undeniably popular among gamers to the point that everyone is working alongside one another. There is always discord in the gaming community since it tends to get competitive, but Helldivers 2 has inspired its players to strive for a common goal.

There are even calls for the game to be released for Xbox consoles, with people saying that they need their brothers and sisters to help them fight for managed democracy. This is one of the very few instances where PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players are getting along.

What's more impressive is that the video game proves that a title does not have to be expensive to be good. At just $40, compared to AAA games that could cost up to $80, Helldivers 2 has taken its player base to one heck of a ride.

The 24-hour peak of concurrent players has since gone down from last month's 458,709 players, as per SteamDB. The latest 24-hour peak is now down by half at 229,057 players, but that's still a massive amount of gamers fighting for the sake of Super Earth.
