Taylor Swift partnered with TikTok to promote her latest album "The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD)" through an exclusive in-app experience.
TikTok can access the Swift-inspired in-app features by unlocking "special entry points" or by searching the artist's name.
TikTok Introduces "TTPD"-Inspired Exclusive Features
After Swift dropped her 11th album online, TikTok debuted a new in-app experience for its users. The "TTPD" exclusive features allow fans to get an exclusive profile frame by completing a set of challenges.
The challenges include following Swift's TikTok account and her PR team Taylor Nation. Fans should also add her latest single "Fortnight" to a streaming service. Lastly, a fan must post a video on the platform with the hashtag #THETORTUREDPOETSDEPARTMENT to get the limited editing frame.
Fans can access the exclusive hub by simply searching "The Tortured Poets Department" and clicking on the banner. Users will also have the opportunity to show up on the "fan spotlight" once they upload their video with the hashtag.
Aside from TikTok, Meta also offers an exclusive promotion to Swift's new album on Threads. Users discovered that they could unlock a special "TTPD" badge after sharing three Swift posts with friends.
Swift Survives TikTok, UMG Dispute
Earlier this year, TikTok and Universal Music Group failed to renew their licensing deal which resulted in all of its catalog pulled from the platform. However, Swift got past the licensing pact and brought back her songs on April 11.
A Variety report suggested that Swift could have made a separate deal with TikTok. The artist partnered with the platform in 2022 to promote her album "Midnights." She surprised fans with a track-reveal video for every track on the album, exclusively on TikTok.
Swift is one of TikTok's most followed singers on the platform. Since joining in 2021 she has accumulated more than 25 million followers with over 225 million likes on her content.
