Fallout 76 found new success after gaining over a million players in a single day after the "Fallout" TV adaptation was released.
The game was released in 2018 and had an all-time comeback after the TV series boosted the interest in the game franchise.
Fallout 76 Celebrates Record-High Success Amid TV Show Release
In X post, Bethesda shared that the game recorded more than one million players in a single day. "Welcome over one million dwellers into Appalachia in a single day. Holy Moly!" the post read.
Moreover, the entire Fallout franchise gained almost five million players in a single day, as well. Previously, Fallout 76 became playable for free on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation to celebrate the series' premiere.
In addition, the endless list of references from the video game in the series helped the audience gain a newfound interest in the game. The "Fallout" series is full of hints from Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76.
Bethesda Records Surprising Peak for Fallout Franchise
Fallout 76 reached its all-time player peak with 73,368 concurrents from two days ago. Previously, the game only peaked at 32,982, according to Steam's data.
Fallout 4 experienced the greatest boost across the after hitting a 24-hour peak with 160,000 concurrent players on April 23. Regardless, the game had already reached its all-time peak of 472,962 during its 2015 launch.
Meanwhile, Fallout New Vegas only reached a peak of 36,806, failing to dethrone its launch record of 51,038.
The "Fallout" TV series has already been renewed by Amazon Prime Video after its huge success on the streaming platform.
