Apple OLED iPad Pro is reportedly being planned to be released with the M4 chip, making the upcoming tablet officially become the first Apple device powered by AI.
According to a Bloomberg report, there is a "strong possibility" that the M4 chip will power Apple's upcoming device as Apple takes steps to tout AI features on its future products.
If the speculations are true, the release of the M4 chip in iPads will coincide with its debut on Apple's new iMacs, MacBook Pros, and Mac Minis series.

So far, it remains unclear what functions the M4 chip will be used for, although signs point to it being utilized to power Apple's in-house Ajax AI model.
Apple earlier indicated that Ajax is being developed to automate processes across several apps, including automated speech-to-text transcription, summarizing, and a more personalized notification system.
The OLED iPad Pro is expected to be officially unveiled on May 7 after Apple scheduled a special event ahead of its annual World Developer Conference in June.
Apple Leans More on AI to Compete with Smartphone Rivals
The tech giant has been hinting at plans to integrate more AI-powered features and tools into its future products as it competes with its top rivals who have already jumped into the trend.
Samsung, the company's biggest competitor, has previously announced plans to feature more AI technology in its phones and tablets, from camera quality enhancements to processing power.
Since then, Apple has reportedly secured deals with other AI firms to feature their services on its upcoming launches, including the iPhone 16.
This also coincides with the company's earlier commitments to introduce more AI-centric functions into the iOS 18, the operating system that will debut with the iPhone 16.
Further details on the device are expected to be officially released in the 2024 WWDC online event.
