Apple Debuts New Features for Final Cut Pro on iPad

Final Cut Pro introduced the Live Multicam feature which can capture up to four different angles of a scene. Each camera feed can be adjusted from the iPad app.

Settings like exposure, focus, zoom, and more are all easily accessible to the app on iPad. The preview clips are also immediately connected to the app and replaced with full-resolution files, allowing a seamless transition from filming to editing.

The Final Cut Camera is a live monitoring and individual control for each video feed which allows users to adjust the white balance, manual focus, and audio meters. Both features can work together to give a better workflow.

It can be installed for free as a standalone app and is available for shooting professional videos using an iPhone and iPad.

Apple Integrates AI to Final Cut Pro on macOS

Editors using macOS also received an update on their video editing tool due to the Neural Engine of the company. The new AI features and other tools will be available on the Final Cut Pro 10.8.

The updates will be available for free to existing users which include the Enhance Light and Color and Smooth Slo-Mo. The Enhance Light and Color allows editors to improve their color balance, contrast, and brightness and is optimized for various types of media.

As for the Smooth Slo-Mo, the frames are generated and blended seamlessly to give more drama to the project file. Apple now also allows custom names to clips to easily identify which frames have been edited in the timeline.

The Final Cut Pro for iPad will be available for free to existing users this Spring while new users must pay $4.99 per month or $49 per year. The Mac App Store offers the app for $299.99 for new users.
