Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Could Experience Price Hike

Several reports have suggested that Xbox could be raising its Game Pass prices soon. The company has been hit with various allegations in just a couple of days, including a price hike for Game Pass Ultimate.

Previously, there have been reports about internal discussions on the future of Call of Duty titles on Game Pass Ultimate as a day-one offer. Popular Xbox content creator Rand al Thor 19 also shared some news about hearing a price increase for Game Pass.

"I think Tom (Warren) is reporting that there are price hikes coming for Game Pass, and I believe him and that actually is happening... but I have no idea what is involved, what it would be, or what it is," the creator stated during his Xbox Two Podcast.

Microsoft Might Consider Debuting Another Subscription Tier

On his podcast, the content creator also mentioned a possible new tier for Game Pass. This claim has sparked a rumor that has been circulating on gaming forums that Microsoft is planning to produce an ad-based tier of Game Pass.

The possible introduction of ads could mitigate the impending price hike that would used to subsidize the future gaming titles in the subscription. This option could also increase the subscriber count of Game Pass due to its cheaper price.

Microsoft announced its most recent price hike for Xbox Game Pass about a year ago. The company has since raised the subscription price by $2.
