FromSoftware shared information about the Elden Ring enemy that will debut on Shadow of Erdtree DLC on June 21, along with a new lore for fans to enjoy.
In an X post, the Elden Ring team teased the fans with a promotional poster featuring the mysterious character that would be the main antagonist for the DLC.
Elden Ring Hints New Lore With Mysterious DLC Character Introduction
FromSoftware described the new enemy as "the abandoned and tragic who forage beneath the umbra pray for the embrace of a new master." The poster showcased an eerie cloaked figure with a glowing head and a small cane, seemingly walking in a dark forest.
Fans were quick to notice its resemblance to Bloodborne antagonists. For instance, some players said the new character is a combination of Garden of Eyes and Winter Lanterns due to its tentacle-like head structure.
While not much has been revealed about the mysterious character, fans assume that it could be something similar to the Bloodborne characters.
Winter Lanterns are known for humming after spotting a player and rapidly filling the frenzy meter. Meanwhile, Garden of Eyes are insect-like creatures that attack using their paralyzing claws.
Shadow of Erdtree to Introduce New Lore
The story of Shadow of Erdtree DLC happens in a physically disconnected setting. Regardless, the Land of the Shadows, the DLC's location, is still within the same Elden Ring universe.
According to reports, the land is accessible through the Mohg's boss arena from the base game. The DLC promises a similar structure that fans will be familiar with such as the looming dark tree and ruins.
Fans would have to wait for a couple of weeks before they can finally uncover the mystery that shrouds the new creator. The upcoming Elden Ring DLC is now open for pre-order.
