Google Brings Back Simple Search With Web Filter

Google started as a simple search engine 25 years ago. Over the years, the company grew and added more features to its engine to cater to the growing needs of the internet. However, some people would still prefer the simplest form of it.

The Google Web Filter allows users to see only text-based links. Other results like images or videos will be filtered based on the settings. The filter can be activated on the top of the results page on the "more" option.

Google shared that the company revealed the filter after several users said they prefer to see links to web pages when searching. "Such as if they're looking for longer-form text documents, using a device with limited internet access, or those who just prefer text-based results shown separately from search features," the company added.

Google Releases AI Overview Feature to All

For people who disliked scanning through pages of Search results, Google introduced the AI Overviews. The feature will gather all the information needed from various sources with the AI summarizing the whole results for the users.

Google shared that users will soon be allowed to adjust their AI Overview based on their preferences. The company also assured that the feature will focus on adding valuable traffic to publishers and creators.

The feature will also show a label to differentiate organic results from sponsored ones. The AI Overviews is now available in the U.S. but Google announced that it will be coming to more countries soon while advanced features will be offered first on Search Labs.
