'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Official Trailer

The final episode of season one already teased how much fire and bloodshed will be shown in the next season. After Rhaenyra Targaryen's son Lucerys was killed after trying to secure an alliance with House Baratheon, the now-Queen decided to go to war after all.

Urged by grief, Team Red, which is Rhaenyra's side, is already rallying up its forces along with dragons and other loyal houses. Of course, the other side, Team Green, has dragon riders of their own, which is already an indication of a brutal civil war.

With the ultimate goal of taking back the throne after Alicent Hightower put his son in power, Rhaenyra already has Meleys, who is ridden by Rhaenys Targaryen, Caraxes, who is ridden by Daemon Targaryen, and of course Syrax, Rhaenyra's own dragon.

The previous teaser even showed that we might see new dragons in action such as Sunfyre and Moondancer. Since it is war and there are a lot of wild cards in place, things will not go as smoothly. As shown in the trailer, Rhaenyra is already questioning Daemon's loyalty.

Even on the Green's side, Alicent seems to be having a problem with how her side is going about winning the war. When Aemond Targaryen questioned, "Would you not have us prevail?" Alicent responded vehemently: "Not like this."

The next scene even shows Aemond speaking to Ser Criston Cole saying that Alicent is a fool as she "holds love" for the enemy. She might not have control over the actions of his sons, especially since Aemond rides the behemoth Vhagar, and Aegon, who was crowned king, has Sunfyre.

The trailer already showed soldiers and dragons in action on the battlefield, so fans can expect a large-scale fight between the two sides this season. If the show follows the book, then there are already expected major deaths for both sides.

What's In Store Based on the Books (Spoilers Ahead)

If you cannot wait to know which side will win, the answer is technically no one. Rhaenyra said so herself: "War is coming, and neither of us may win." This can be a foreshadowing of what's to come, which is the monarch of both Team Black and Team Green losing their chosen leaders.

In "A Dance of Dragons," the novel by George R. R. Martin, several deaths and victories are already detailed. A lot of fan favorites will not make it to the end of the civil war. Rhaenyra's death was even mentioned by Joffrey Baratheon in an episode of "Game of Thrones."

In the books, Aemond, who rides the largest dragon Vhagar, was killed by Daemon as he rode Caraxes. This effectively takes out one of the most dangerous dragons in the battle, but unfortunately ends in the death of Daemon and both dragons as well. In the end, Rhaenyra's son Aegon the Younger ends up on the throne.
