Patreon, Grammarly Begin Early Testing With Google's Gemini Nano

Patreon and Grammarly participated in the early access program for Google's Gemini Nano, the company shared during the Google I/O 2024 event.

The companies were invited to test Google's smallest AI model last year before it was introduced to more developers.

Patreon, Grammarly Adopt Gemini Nano on Operations

Google shared that the crowdfunding site has started to use Gemini Nano to develop a new feature that will allow creators to quickly scan through unread messages. The feature bears similarity to Gemini's integration on Gmail.

In addition, Grammarly has been said to be experimenting with the AI model by creating smarter suggestions and additional features that could help writers enhance their outputs. The writing tool has become a popular help for professionals and students for their writing projects.

The companies have yet to share more details on their Gemini Nano integration. Google only cited Grammarly and Patreon as the early users of the program. The apps' upcoming features are expected to be related to the Gemini AI.

Google Embraces AI During I/O 2024 Event

During the event, Google emphasized Gemini Nano's ability to bring more AI features to Android users worldwide. The smallest AI model works for processing texts, audio, speech, images, and more.

Google also centered its event on introducing Gemini integration to various apps. Messages, Gmail, YouTube, and more are getting more involved with Gemini in the coming months.

"Still, we are in the early days of the AI platform shift. We see so much opportunity ahead, for creators, for developers, for startups, for everyone. Helping to drive those opportunities is what our Gemini era is all about," said CEO Sundar Pichai.
