Square Enix to Update Epic Games Version of Kingdom Hearts
The Kingdom Hearts series first debuted on PC through the Epic Games Store in 2021. After three years, Square Enix announced that it would be implementing a new strategy to expand its major franchise to other platforms.
Despite ending the PC exclusivity, the studio assured that the Epic Games Store versions are also getting the updated textures in various environments. The improved texture is expected to be released on Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix.
Fans could spot the texture update on the Agrabah and Disney Castle. The patch update will be available to Epic Games on June 13, the same as the Steam launch.
Square Enix Brings Kingdom Hearts Series to Steam
In a blog post, Square Enix revealed that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC, and Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece will be available on Steam.
The studio also explained that the titles will give the Dark Seeker Saga experience to players, allowing them to play through Sora's beginnings on Destiny Island. The story also involves the meetup with Donald Duck and Goofy and how they fight against the darkness.
The Kingdom Hearts series is also available on other platforms such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Square Enix also released a series guide for new players.
