Samsung Galaxy Watches will be the next target of the phone maker's transition towards AI as the technology provides its capabilities to track the wearer's health and give wellness tips.
In a blog post on Wednesday, Samsung unveiled the arrival of its flagship Galaxy AI system to its branded smartwatches to provide people with "more comprehensive health insights."
The AI-powered features will not only track people's physical and workout movements but will also be able to provide personal health metrics during sleep and resting time.
This includes tracking of movements, sleep latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate in addition to the previous metrics available on the watches.
To top it all off, data gathered from the smartwatch will be compiled as in-depth analysis users can review to improve their lifestyles.
The AI-powered features are expected to be available on all recently released Samsung Galaxy Watches, although older models may receive the system improvements, as well.

Samsung Galaxy Watches Pose to Compete with Apple Watch on Health & Wellness Field
The release of additional health and wellness features on Galaxy Watches is expected to provide Samsung better leverage as it competes against Apple.
Apple is currently finding difficulties in rolling out its health-related features on its smartwatches following a massive lawsuit from Medtech firm Masimo over its blood oxygen tracker.
The ensuing legal battle has resulted in delayed sales for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Series 9 in the US as the company tries to skirt around litigations before ultimately removing it.
Samsung Leans More into AI to Beat Rising Competition
With Apple finally beating Samsung's dominance in the smartphone market, the South Korean giant is reportedly making moves to secure its spot in other tech fields through AI.
During its appearance at the 2024 CES convention last January, Samsung unveiled its plans to highlight its AI developments across its products, including its upcoming Galaxy phones and watches.
So far, Samsung has brought AI for camera improvements, upgrades for its Bixby voiced assistant, translation features, and system revamps for older Samsung phones.
This was the first time Galaxy AI will roll out as a health- and wellness-related feature since Samsung unveiled the technology earlier this year.
