MrBeast (James Donaldson) has finally "avenged" PewDiePie (Felix Kjellberg) against his longtime rival, the Bollywood music label T-Series, to become the most-subscribed YouTube channel.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), MrBeast dedicated his victory to PewDiePie, who previously held the record with the most YouTube subscribers, six years after Kjellberg first competed with T-Series.
The moment was recorded on Saturday evening as Donaldson recorded a 2 million subscriber increase, the biggest spike in his subscriber count.
PewDiePie Vs T-Series: A Brief History
PewDiePie's online feud with the Indian-based channel started in 2017 as other famous YouTubers backed the Swedish content creator to regain his title as the most subscribed channel on the platform.
MrBeast, one of PewDiePie's prominent supporters, even launched several "Subscribe to PewDiePie" slogans across his hometown to pull more people into the trend.
Kjellberg ended his campaign in 2019 after several fans walked over legalities to hack T-Series websites and throw racial slurs at its supporters.
PewDiePie then entrusted the fight for the top YouTube title to Donaldson as the American entrepreneur/show master overtook his subscriber count.
Nearly five years later, PewDiePie's wishes were finally realized as MrBeast reached 269 million subscribers, the highest number in a single channel ever held on the platform.
As of writing, MrBeast's main channel has 3 million more subscribers than T-Series' 266 million subscribers.
MrBeast Accounts Record Follower Growth Following Monumental Win
MrBeast's YouTube channel is not the only social media page under Donaldson's management that has recorded a huge spike after his win against T-Series.
MrBeast's main X account also gained over 50,000 followers as more content creators promoted his online campaign on other platforms.
Donaldson's subscribers are expected to grow further in the coming months as he launches his first-ever show on Amazon Prime, bringing his high-prized challenges to more audiences.
