The improved gaming console comes with a Dolby Atmos surround sound system, 1080p resolution, and more.
Asus Announces ROG Ally X, Opens for Preorders
The new device runs on Windows 11 Home and is powered by AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme for its CPU with AMD Radeon Graphics for its GPU. The ROG Ally X has 24GB RAM and 1TB storage capacity.
In addition, the handheld gaming PC retains its memory card slot, allowing users to expand their storage capacity using microSD. According to reports, the device is now capable of up to 15% performance boost.
The ROG Ally X is slightly heavier compared to its predecessor. According to reports, Asus managed to offset some of the battery weight by making other components lighter to prevent the device from being overweight.
Asus Improves ROG Ally With Minor Tweaks
The Verge clarified that the ROG Ally X is a revision and should not be considered as a sequel. Asus collected some of the problems from the original handheld device and decided to tweak some of it for a more expensive price.
The ROG Ally X offers three months' worth of Xbox Game Pass for free, allowing gamers to explore different game titles upon receiving the device. The device also has a full HD 120Hz high refresh rate for better gameplay even in fast-paced games.
The ROG Ally X still supports games from various platforms. Players can install game titles from Steam, Xbox Game Pass, Epic Games Store, GOG, and more.
The device supports up to 4.5 years of security updates. The latest Asus handheld gaming PC will be shipped on July 22.
