When the first season of "Arcane" was released in November 2021, people were pleasantly surprised by the show with its story and art style, so much so that even those who haven't played the game became fans. With the upcoming second season, viewers might need to prepare for a more tragic story between Vi and Jinx.
'Arcane' Season 2 with Vi and Jinx
The animated series based on League of Legends focused on several characters, even ones that are not playable characters in the game. However, one of the main storylines that gripped audiences was that of the sisters, Vi and Jinx.
It has been a long wait, and the short teaser released was not nearly enough to satisfy eager fans. With the air date set for this year, Netflix shared a poster on X that already tells us what to expect for the next season.
It shows Jinx, now having a pink glow in her eyes because of the Shimmer, protectively embracing a terrified Vi. This image can have several meanings, but the most likely that people would argue is that Jinx is comforting her sister after the terrible acts she did herself.
As pointed out by Screen Rant, it can even be interpreted as the Jinx holding Vi hostage, which highlights just how worse the blue-haired tinkerer's obsessive behavior has become. With the Shimmer running through her veins, it's quite likely that it has been intensified.
It could even be a response to what Jinx did in season 1's cliffhanger of a final episode, where an unhinged Jinx fired a rocket launcher aiming at the Piltover council. Since the show is now canon and serves as a prequel, we know that not everyone will perish in the attack.
With Jayce Talis being a playable character in League of Legends, we know that he will survive and will continue to use his Hextech-powered Mercury Hammer to fight his enemies. The fate of the rest is still unknown, including a character that fans have grown to love, Mel Medarda.
More Exciting Things to Expect
Jinx and Vi's story is not the only thing people are expecting to see in the show. After all, there are a lot of narratives that have branched out, including Ekko's, Jayce's, Singed's, Heimerdinger's, and maybe even Vander's, who is strongly speculated to be the video game's Warwick.
For one, we would like to know what happens to Caitlyn and Vi in the next season, especially since the gap between them has grown bigger now that Vi's sister has fired a weapon that is intended to kill Cait's mother, who was part of the council.
With the released teaser trailer, it would be nice to finally get the official confirmation that the beast hanging over at Singed's lab is Vander, since we would like to see more of the father figure that Jinx and Vi had.
While there are no indications of it, we could also be seeing new characters from the franchise's universe, particularly from Noxus. If Mel is harmed in any way, best believe that an empire known for its brutal practices would step in to avenge the daughter of its warlord.
