AT&T is suffering another hours-long service outage across the US as customers are blocked from sending calls, messages, and accessing the internet.
Since Tuesday afternoon, Downdetector has recorded over 3,000 service disruptions with New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Philadelphia being the most affected areas.
Despite the service blackout all over the US, AT&T claimed that "we are not experiencing a nationwide outage" but rather an "issue that is affecting the ability of some customers" to make calls.
The telecom giant assured that users could still make 9-1-1 calls and use other emergency hotlines even during the outage.
The service disruption came less than four months after AT&T recorded a 12-hour-long outage across the US. AT&T later apologized for the service outage with an automatic $5 credit to all customers affected.
Verizon, Other Data Carriers Also Experiencing Nationwide Service Outages
AT&T is not the only data carrier suffering from service disruptions across multiple states. In fact, most data service providers, including its biggest rival Verizon, have reported outages at varying degrees.
Downdetector recorded a surge in outages in US Cellular and Consumer Cellular at the same time as the AT&T outage. Customers online have also reported similar issues with calls and messages.
Verizon, on the other hand, recorded the most service disruptions for over 2,000 mobile and 5G home internet plan customers across the East Coast.
The internet service provider claimed that there is no "widespread" outage with the problem occurring mostly when "calling or texting customers on other carriers who are having issues."
The Federal Communication Commission is already investigating the outages after multiple states reported the same problems with wireless call services.

AT&T, Verizon Customers Call Out Recurring Service Disruption
While AT&T and Verizon vowed to monitor the situation, more customers are taking their grievances online to criticize the data carriers' services over the past months.
Many customers likened the situation to the outage last February as multiple data carriers experienced service issues nationwide after AT&T reported an outage.
As of writing, there is no confirmation yet whether the current service disruptions were due to a cyberattack.
