'Spy X Family' Renews for Another Season
In an X post, the official Japanese account for the series shared the news to the fans. The poster was created by the series character designer Kazuaki Shimida and was designed by art director Yuni Yoshida.
The TV series is based on the Japanese manga of the same name. The series was created by Tatsuya Endo. The anime version of the manga was directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi for Season 1 and was joined by Takahiro Harada in Season 2.
As of writing, the release date for the next season is still unknown. Details for the additional cast and staff are yet to be disclosed in the following months.
Crunchyroll Continues 'Spy x Family' Broadcast
Crunchyroll currently holds the license to distribute the series in the majority of the regions outside Japan and Asia. Meanwhile, Muse Communication distributes the series within the Asia-Pacific region.
The "Spy x Family" follows the spy known as "Twilight" as he builds a family to accomplish his undercover mission in hopes of rebuilding a peaceful nation. Unbeknownst to him, he created a family full of abilities: Anya being a telepath, Yor as an assassin, and Bond with precognition.
Both Season 1 and 2 were well-received due to their engaging storyline and well-developed characters. The fans are also expecting more action and slip-ups from the family that would lead them to become closer.
Aside from the series and manga, the movie "Spy x Family CODE: White" was released last year in Japan as an extension to the series. It is now available to stream on Crunchyroll.
