GameStop revealed the much-awaited release date of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater after posting the trailer and preorder link to the game.
In a now-deleted X post, the game retailer leaked that the remake is coming on November 17.
GameStop Shares MGS 3 Release Date Ahead of Official Announcement
Fans were quick to notice the post citing that launching the remake on November 17 will mark its 20th anniversary since the original game was released. PlayStation also previously listed the MGS 3 remake as part of its 2024 game lineup.
During the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Konami unveiled a gameplay trailer to increase excitement for the game. Reports have shown that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be a faithful remake of the popular MGS 3.
As of writing, GameStop has deleted its X post. However, thousands of fans have already spotted the news. Konami has yet to address the leak.
Konami Hypes Fans for MGS 3 Remake
During its announcement, Konami hinted that the Delta symbol from the title symbolizes the concept of the project. "Delta means 'change' or 'difference' without changing structure," the official Metal Gear wrote on X.
It is expected that Konami will retain much of the game's notable elements. Fans are also looking forward to the enhanced graphics and visuals of the game considering a two decades' worth of difference.
The MGS 3 is known for its stealth, survival, and tactical gameplay. The remake might introduce new and refined controls, along with updated mechanics to keep up with the modern gaming standards.
Aside from the MGS 3 remake, Konami is also working on remaking some of its greatest titles. For instance, the Silent Hill 2 is already slated for an October release.
