Cybertrucks have been popular even before it was released. However, many of its buyers expressed their disappointment with the delivery experience, with some even complaining that some issues arise once they get a hold of the truck.
Cybertruck Deliveries Paused
Although it has not been reported by Tesla officially, several Cybertruck buyers said that their scheduled deliveries have been delayed. They have been told to wait a little longer as the company takes care of a safety issue.
The problem in question involves the vehicle's windshield wiper motor. So far, Tesla has not issued a recall for owners who already received their vehicles, but those who are about to will have to wait a week before operations are back to normal, as per Engadget.
The pause on deliveries has been confirmed by users on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum as well as Reddit. The issue has not been specified by the EV company, so buyers have nothing else to do before the problem is resolved.
Owners of the vehicle have reported issues with the windshield wipers lately, and it is more than likely that it is similar to the reason deliveries have been halted. Some said that their windshield wipers failed when they attempted to use them.
Other reports say that the wipers failed as almost as soon as they picked up the truck. This is yet another addition to the long list of issues that Cybertruck buyers have experienced since they ordered it, some of which even saw faults just as they started using the vehicle.
Not the First Faulty Function
Windshield wipers not functioning properly can be dangerous since their purpose is to make sure that the sight from within the vehicle is clear so that the driver can see the road, but that's just one life-threatening problem that Tesla is trying to fix.
The company also paused deliveries back in April as well as recalled almost 4,000 Cybertrucks due to faulty accelerator pedals. As reported by Wired, the accelerator pad could get stuck and push the car to full speed.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Association issued the recall, affecting the EV trucks that were manufactured between November 13th, 2023 to April 4th this year. There were users who posted videos showing how bad the issue can be.
"If the pad on the accelerator pedal becomes trapped in the interior trim above the pedal, the performance and operation of the pedal will be affected, which may increase the risk of a collision," the NHTSA said in its recall notice.
That's on top of other complaints from buyers, some of which said their new trucks already had rust on them. One buyer posted on X about a coolant leak the same day he got the car, which happened while the car was parked.
Another detailed how his Cybertruck stopped working for hours after we put it through a car wash. Worse, someone managed to cut themselves because of the truck's sharp edges, sending them to the emergency room.
