Google is targeting to lure One AI Premium testers to come back by offering a 50 percent discount with the same access to Google One 2TB and Gemini Advanced on Ultra 1.0.
During its introduction last February, Google provided a free two-month trial to all users before charging $19.99 per month.
Google to Boost One AI Premium Plan Subscription Months After Launch
Despite gaining early testers, the subscription might have lost some of its customers after the free trial has ended. Google has been offering other promotions for the service.
For instance, Google Fi users received a two-month trial last May. Recently, Chromebook Plus owners were promised to get access to Gemini Advanced for free for one year.
A user spotted the ongoing sale which states that the AI Premium plan is now available for only $9.99 per month for two months. The discounted plan offers access to Gemini Advanced, Gemini in Gmail Docs, and more, 2TB of cloud storage, and other Google One Premium benefits.
Customers Experience Expensive Fees for Access to AI Services
Several tech giants have launched their own AI subscription plans to allow consumers to explore their AI-powered tools. Despite the attempts to impress consumers during the free trial period, several customers considered the services as too expensive.
Some of the factors that contributed to their expensive plans are the infrastructure costs, licensing, development, security, and more. These elements collectively contribute to the high cost associated with AI services.
Meanwhile, some AI-powered tools are accessible for free on the latest flagship phones. For instance, Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro come with Google AI features for four months. Older models are also starting to receive AI updates, depending on the version.
