Just like Marvel, DC is filled with powerful and interesting villains that are feared by even the strongest heroes. With DC being known to be darker than its rival, the movies can really get into how evil an antagonist can get. Here are some of the formidable villains in the DCEU.
8. Ares
The Greek god of war deserves a place on this list considering that well, he is a god. Unlike how he is portrayed in some texts and films, Ares in the DC universe is actually strategic and cunning, which makes him more dangerous than he already is. However, despite being a god, he was easily defeated by Diana or Wonder Woman, which puts him on the lower part of the list of powerful enemies.
7. Lex Luthor
Despite being human, his intelligence has gotten him so far that he was able to get Superman to do what he wanted at one point. Not only was he a genius in planning the destruction of his enemies, but he also had the resources to make things happen. That is a dangerous combination in any world.
6. Ra's al Ghul
Faced with supernatural and mythological forces, Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins will probably lose, but he has more than proven that he can be a difficult foe to human heroes like Batman. Even if he is wounded, he has access to Lazarus Pits, which can heal his wounds, and even prolong and restore his life.
5. Enchantress
Seeing as she is a sorceress, she definitely has an advantage over a few heroes in the DC film universe. She can project energy for offense and defense, fly, make her enemies hallucinate, possess individuals, control weather, stop time, have telekinetic powers, and many more that she can use to defeat those who oppose her. She doesn't even need combat to win a fight.
4. Doomsday
A behemoth of a monster, Doomsday is one of the most terrifying villains that heroes can encounter. For one, he's Kryptonian, which means that he is as invulnerable as Superman if not more. Of course, he also has the same weakness as any Kryptonian, which is Kryptonite, but with it being extremely limited, Doomsday can be a threat to all.

3. Steppenwolf
As we already saw on "Justice League," it took the whole team of supers to eventually take down the antagonist and his army of Parademons. He can jump great heights, has superhuman strength, and has the knowledge of warfare. He also has armor that adds to his resistance against attacks.
2. General Zod
The only disadvantage General Zod had was that he was new to Earth, and therefore had to learn to adjust existing under a yellow Sun, but he was just as powerful as Superman was. Plus, he had the advantage of having experience in military combat and other exprienced Kryptonians at his side. The movie shows how difficult it was for Clark to defeat him.
1. Darkseid
He was only shown briefly in "Zack Snyder's Justice League," but that now makes him a part of the DC film universe. Other than being immortal, he also has telepathy and telekinesis, as well as the ability to give powers to others. He's kind of like the combination of Thanos and Apocalypse. To show just how powerful he is, even Steppenwolf is afraid of him.
