Google is Selling a Chrome Dino LEGO Set, But Stocks Are Limited

If you've ever lost your internet connection while using Google Chrome, then you know exactly what Chrome Dino is. It's a fun way to pass the time while waiting to regain your network connection, and now you can have a physical figure of that adorable pixelated dino.

Chrome Dino Brick Set

LEGO has released a lot of themed sets based on popular franchises, but it also creates builds based on singular topics like the Chrome Dino. While the item can be bought through Google's merchandise shop online, it is actually an official LEGO set.

Specifically called the "Chrome Dino Brick Set," you can buy it for only $40, and you will be provided with 233 to assemble the Chrome Dino. It's unclear how big it is since there are no dimensions available on the site.

The iconic dino figure is made of all green blocks apart from its eyes, which are white, and its base, which is clear. The set also has a limited stock. As of writing, there are only 597 left in stock, so you better order quickly if you want one from this batch.

As mentioned in 9To5Google, the idea of a Chrome Dino LEGO set has already been suggested before, but it was never made until now. It was brought in 2019 and again in 2023, but never gained enough traction to make it to market.

Those who enjoyed the offline game can now purchase a physical collectible, and the product is rated 8+. The set might be three to four inches tall based on LEGO's usual builds, but that's just an estimation and it could be bigger or smaller.

Google Had a Custom Chrome Dino Too

A LEGO set is not the way the Chrome Dino has been celebrated by the search engine giant. There was a tool that allowed users to create a customized dino game where they got to change the elements such as the character, the obstacles, and the background.

Sadly, it is no longer available now. If you head to the site that lets you create the game called Gen Dino, it simply says "This game is now extinct." But, you can still head to Google Labs for other AI tools and experiments.

When it was still available, Google used Imagen 2 so that players could create the mentioned elements using text prompts. It won't always be able to generate the topics you type in the text field, but the possibilities are extensive.

Once you type in your elements of choice, pixelated greyscale art will be created, and they will appear once you click on "Let's Run." Google even provided a way for you to generate random characters, obstacles, and backgrounds by clicking on "I'm Feeling Lucky."

You can have a robot jumping over cars with skyscrapers in the background. Under the "Let's Run" button, Google put a disclaimer that the AI output can sometimes be offensive or inaccurate, which the company has struggled with before in Gemini AI.
