Limited Run Games unveiled the teaser trailer for the comeback of a PlayStation classic, Fear Effect, on modern consoles in 2025.
A modernized version of the cult classic game is expected after 25 years since it was first released.

Fear Effect is a 2000 video game developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment. The action-adventure game debuted on the Sony PlayStation and left a lasting impression on gamers back in the day.
Limited Run Games shared that the game will launch in both physical and digital editions. It is also slated to be available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Some fans are still hoping for an Xbox port but it was missing from the announcement.
"One of the most gorgeous experimental games of the PlayStation era returns!" Limited Run Games announced on X. The company also shared that more details about the game will be released at a later time.
Fear Effect Targets Retro Gamers Amid Comeback Launch
During its release in 2000, players were amazed at Fear Effect's unique visual style that blended with its cyberpunk narrative. The game follows the story of Hana Tsu-Vachel, Royce Glas, and Deke Decourt as they go on a retrieval mission.
Players will be exposed to complex character relationships as the group navigates their dynamics, along with supernatural elements. Critics were quick to note its fresh take on the action-adventure game.
With the release of the trailer, Fear Effect plans to reconnect with gamers who got the opportunity to play it during its first release. In addition, the game is also planning to attract new players who were not able to play the original game.
